It is our pleasure to inform you about the initiative, first of its kind, to celebrate in Israel the United Nation international days. This is a joint initiative of The Ambassadors’ Club of Israel (ACI) led by Ambassador Yitzhak Eldan andThe Government Press Office led by Mr. Nitzan Chen. Israel, along with the rest of the world will mark those days in 2014 with special events for ambassadors and journalists posted in Israel.
It will be an honor for us to invite you, the ambassadors’ spouses and the Executive Committee to the first event dedicated to International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2014. The event which will focus on strengthening women and cooperation between Jewish and Arab women, will take place on Thursday March 6th, 2014.
The schedule is as follows:
08:15 – Bus departure from the Government Press Office, Technology Park, Malha, Jerusalem
09:30 – Meeting point at the Tel Aviv-Savidor railway station (Arlozorov) (under the clock at the entrance to the station).
10:20-11:20 – Visit NA’AMAT Hashalom (Peace) daycare center (18 Aristo St., Jaffa), a bilingual center for Jewish and Arab (Muslim & Christians) children, accompanied by NA’AMAT International Dept. Director Shirli Shavit and Director of Hashalom DCC Diana Habash.
12:00-13:00 – Official event, with the participation of (inter alia) Tel Aviv-Jaffa Mayor Ron Huldai and others VIPs, at the Glickman Center in the Maoz Aviv neighborhood in northern Tel Aviv. Light meal.
13:15-14:15 – Tour of the NA’AMAT Glickman Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Domestic Violence in the Family, accompanied by Center Director Orit Earon and Shelter for battered women Director Ruti Ozeri.
14:15-15:30 – Panel on strengthening the status of women, chaired by GPO Director Nitzan Chen, with the participation of NA’AMAT Israel President Galia Wolloch, Naamat Legal Counsel and Legislation Director Dept. Atty. Gali Etzion, Dr. Rodaina Geraisi Chairperson NA’AMAT Nazareth region and MK Stav Shafir.
16:00 – Return to Tel Aviv-Savidor railway station
17:00 – Return to the GPO in Jerusalem
